Ogham was the first alphabet of Scotland. They are not a language, but a way of writing down any language. The Celtic respect for trees influenced many aspects of their lives and is considered to be fundamental to the Ogham script. The markings center along a long vertical reference line, the ‘stem,’ which is then crossed by characters comprised of lines or slashes known as ‘twigs’. This Ogham pendant features a wood-like silhouette and shows the Sail Ogham alphabet at the center that stands for the letter S. This Pendant is handmade in Asgard's workshop in Scotland and is available in Pewter. Pewter is a malleable metal alloy that is composed mostly of tin and is often used in jewelry because of its strength and durability.
