Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is not earth or dirt. It is the fossilized remains of microscopic shells created by one-celled aquastic plants (diatoms). Lumino Diatomaceous Earth for Pets is a non-toxic alternative that kills fleas by absorbing waxy fats and oils from their exoskeleton. After this coating is removed, the fleas can't retain water and die due to dehydration. Just sprinkle it on your pet's coat and thoroughly brush it through all their fur before a walk, hike, or other potential flea exposure.
