According to myth, the unicorn can only be approached by a virgin of the purest heart. A hoof bears in the inscription 2x2, the manner in which the animals entered Noah’s Ark. The legends say that the unicorns refused to board the Ark out of pride and vanity, and did not survive the Flood. On the interior is a mirror for the conceited unicorn.
