Painted Horse- Artful Embroidery
One of the very first icons envisioned for the Vintage Western series is the horse bust—a timeless subject, reimagined here through the intricate language of embroidery. Few figures are as deeply woven into the history of art as the horse. In the American West and far beyond, it has stood as a symbol of freedom, strength, and the enduring bond between human and animal. From grand equestrian portraits of European courts to the spirited bronzes of Western sculpture, the horse has always carried both nobility and myth. In this work, however, the familiar bust is translated into thread. Every curve of the neck, every delicate shift of the muzzle, every flicker of mane and ear was hand-digitized, then stitched layer by layer. Rendered in lush wool threads, the embroidery doesn’t just depict the horse—it embodies it.
