Crystal

Crystal is an aroma hop grown in the USA with an alpha acid of 2.8-6% and a beta acid that can range from 4.5 to 9%. Crystal Hops are the half sister of Mt. Hood, Liberty and Ultra Hops. It has aromas of woods, green, floral and fruity notes combined with herb and spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. They have intensely fruity aromas of apricot, mango, passionfruit, banana and freshly pressed fruit juice which makes a uniquely sweet flavor. Tart notes of lime and nuances of tea - think aromatic earl grey tea - are also there in conjunction with chamomile blossom notes that are all rounded off by fresh citrus aromas, spicy curry notes and the sweet fruit of kiwi and plum.It is Mild, Pleasant, Spicy, Flowery, Citrus, Woody, and Green. It's a great choice for IPAs, Lagers, Wheat Styles, ESBs, Pale Ales, Belgian Ales, Bitters, Kolschs, and Pilsners.
