Black Lantern

Antique black-painted tin ship’s lantern, measuring 9 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide. This compact navigation lantern has a square body with a round glass lens framed in tin, a flared vented chimney, and curled iron feet for mounting or stability. The lantern retains traces of its original black paint, now aged with surface wear and patina. It would have originally been fitted with an oil or kerosene burner, serving as a working light aboard ship. Today, it makes a striking maritime artifact with a rugged, authentic presence.
