Monuments: the White House

Spring was the ideal time to capture the White House, when the tulips were blooming around the fountain. The building, is typically Neoclassical with strong lines that I chose to soften by using the magnolia as a floral accent. The tulip garden surrounding the fountain, the windows and doors with their architectural nuances and the flag flying atop the building were all important to include and a welcome challenge on a small linocut of this size.
