Soup Bowls, Cream Soup, Furnivals, Quail Blue Ironstone Transferware, Antique
Antique Bowls, Cream Soup Bowls Blue & White Quails with Handles and Underplates, Dinnerware, Transferware Pattern, English Ironstone, Antique Tableware, (Discontinued) Made in England Antique: 1913 - 1921 Details: An amazing find, extremely RARE ironstone cream soup bowl set and absolutely beautiful!! This is the Quail Blue pattern from Furnivals (they also made it in brown). This shape bowl with the two handles is known as a cream soup bowl (also known as consommé/broth bowl), and it has the matching underplate. As the name implies, it has quails on both the bowl and saucer along with oriental style flowers. The border has a gentle scalloped shape with a pretty blue and white band design, and the saucer is deeper than typical, likely for catching any spills. Both pieces have the round backstamp that reads: "Furnivals 1913 Quail, Made in England, Rd No 684771". No doubt a wonderful find for a collector of Furnivals Pottery, or Transferware, or Ironstone or simply a Blue &
