The pen is only 2 months old from being purchased and has never been inked except to perform a writing sample on paper. I consider this pen in Mint Condition with boxes, leather Pelikan pouch, Pelikan literature, hang tag, and plastic cellophane the pen was wrapped in. The Pelikan Souverän M800 is a solid black pen complemented by 24k gold plated trim. The large 2-tone nib is made of 18k gold and designated an "Extra Fine". The fountain pen is equipped with a differential brass piston-filling mechanism that works so smoothly. The smooth operating piston mechanism allows you to fill this pen with bottled ink, and the green ink window allows you to see your ink level.
