Set made by the Down Bros of London. The lid contains a beautifulButcher saw and olive tipped forcep. The lower compartment contains three ebony handled amputation knives. One is missing. A finger saw which is present may be a replacement. The tourniquet is marked Down Bros.There are ivory insets on the anterior aspect of the lower compartment which say " Down Bros. opposite Guy's Hospital. Circa 1874.
