This is an antique English ironstone plate with an unusual golden brown transferware pattern called Victoria made between 1895-1900 by the Upper Hanley Pottery, England. The Victoria transferware pattern features a floral that I think looks like pansies with hand painted metallic gold accents and trim, which looks black in the photos until the light hits it. The small dinner or luncheon plate measures 9 inches in diameter and is in very good +++ used vintage condition with some gold trim loss, crazing and a shallow rim chip that was painted gold at some time. A very unusual color and pretty late Victorian design. But a wonderful shabby and unusual English ironstone set to love in a seldom seen yellow golden brown transferware colorway!
