Furnivals Quail Eggcup Double Brown Transferware 1890s Birds Ironstone Egg Cup
This is an antique Quail double egg cup or eggcup of brown transferware on white ironstone made by Furnival's, England in the 1890-1910s in the Quail pattern. The ironstone egg cup measures 4 inches high by 2.75 inches in diameter of the larger end, and 2 inch diameter at the smaller end and was used for chicken eggs, duck eggs in the larger side or the larger used as a cup for a coddled egg. The transferware eggcup has the well none Quail design with the birds in a landscape and an abstract symbols border design. The antique transferware eggcup is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only extremely mild, normal crazing. A very pretty ironstone brown transferware eggcup, that can also be used as a small vase, a ring holder or many other things.
