This is an antique Quail double egg cup or eggcup of brown transferware on white ironstone made by Furnival's, England in the 1890-1910s in the Quail pattern. The ironstone egg cup measures 4 inches high by 2.75 inches in diameter of the larger end, and 2 inch diameter at the smaller end and was used for chicken eggs, duck eggs in the larger side or the larger used as a cup for a coddled egg. The transferware eggcup has the well none Quail design with the birds in a landscape and an abstract symbols border design. The antique transferware eggcup is in very good +++ used vintage condition with  no chips or cracks and only extremely mild, normal crazing. A very pretty ironstone brown transferware eggcup, that can also be used as a small vase, a ring holder or many other things.
