Mid Victoria Crystal Cutlery Rest Barbell Hand Faceted Knife Rest Carving 1850-1870

This is a large master or carving knife hand faceted crystal knife rest, carving knife rest or cutlery holder made in England during the mid Victorian era, during the 1850-1870s. The hand cut hand faceted crystal knife holder measures 1.5 inches high by 4.75 inches long and is in a barbell shape with  a hexagonal bar and faceted lapidary ball ends. The knife rest has been used quite a bit and has numerous fleabites on the facets and beveling of the bar but is in good ++ used vintage condition.    The knife rest is a wonderful piece of Victoriana and the ingenuity of a dining gadget that is both a practical way to keep the tablecloth as well as an aesthetically pleasing decorative item.
