Antique 19th Century Hand Carved Dieppe Ivory Putti Figure with Cymbals Mounted on Walrus (?) Tusk
I have owned this for decades. It's been a very long time ago (2011) that I had it listed on 1stDibs, and oddly, our images still come up when I searched "figure with cymbals" - we left 1stDibs after a year or so as one of their invited original dealers (prices and costs were just too high). Obviously, like Ruby Lane, they STILL publish all our photos as a lure to their sites, which seems perplexing. In any case, rules changed afterward and so we'd just crated my collections until we figured out how to sell within newer rulings. It's an interesting piece we found in the USA, way back then described as Dieppe carved figure atop a tusk which seems to me to be walrus based on shape, but I'm not sure. Figure is ivory, thus subject to restrictions noted below. Full measurements noted on the photos.
