Antique Flemish Tapestry Fragment, Panel, Chalice or Goblet & Leaves, 10.5" Sq.
This is from my private stash. I'm disbursing panels I just am never going to get to make up in to those lush opulent down-filled throw pillows I love. YOU get to do it, instead. A superb c.1600s to earliest 1700s Belgian Verdure (Flemish) woven tapestry, salvaged from a much larger wall tapestry, but very interesting subject-wise and also plenty to stitch to a lush velvet or silk panel and then work up as front to a lavishly fringed pillow. The fragments with a focal point such as that wonderful blue chalice are so hard to find! This is a nice center focus sized one 10.5" square (slightly more or less). It will will be just gorgeous accented there with perhaps antique metal (in gold) passsimenterie (trim), ribbon, something to add accent to the panel, which you really must set into a larger silk or silk velvet pillow front to show it off.
