Such an elegant set, this! Expanded well beyond most, it includes a little pocket knife or folding blade for seam-ripping, and also a mechanical pencil, along with the usual sewing items: scissors, needle case, thimble. There is an open spot for a bodkin (ribbon-threading needle), which is all that is missing. The pieces do have the tiny boar's head French punch marks, guarantee of .800/1000 pure silver, and the surface tests 18k gold (vermeil). There is also a very tiny maker's poincon, diamon-shaped but impossible for me to make out. The pieces are original and fit perfectly into the elegantly carved recesses in the fine c.1840-60s natural ivory etui or case. Oval in form, it displays very well, and is shown thoroughly in our photos for your review. Being ivory, it will not be available for all. Please read below*.
