Antique French Sterling Silver & Ivory Handled 10pc Knife Set, Napoleon III Walnut & Brass Inlay Box
Absolutely gorgeous antique French Charles X to Napoleon III era (c. 1830-80) 10pc 7 7/8" entremet or dessert sized knife set with original "Paris" marked steel blades, elegant seashell accented sterling silver caps & collars and carved solid ivory handles! In what is sure the original storage or presentation box with brass inlay, carved edging and opulent fitted interior but, as you can see from the inner fittings, there would have been a total of twelve knives originally. We do, however, have a beautiful set of four in the same pattern but with vermeil caps, collars and blades in case you like to add the sets together. Of course, the knives are the real treasure but an elegant old package such as this makes them all the more fun! All remarkable, beautiful, don't miss them!Very good condition. No damage to note to the knives other than a few small visible darkened hairlines near the silver fittings. Some tarnish or corrosion on the steel blades, as you can see in the images, but
