Very compact in size and holding just everything a late Napoleon III or Edwardian Grand Tour traveler or businessman might need for travel hygiene, this one is a most unique form and just beautifully crafted. Many of the implements are made in fine old ivory. The scent bottles have silver-plate caps, not sterling silver. A pocket knife, razor, 3-level tube compartment piece for powders, unguents, or even coffee or salt. There's a shoe horn, 2 brushes (tooth and nail) and scissors, nail tops and a cork screw. A comb, which may or may not be original to this c.1870-1900 set. Fine quality black leather, silk moire and velvet interior. So interesting how it folds open and displays everything, then compactly becomes a handle-topped travel valet. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, a remarkable remainder of a traveler's past. Bottles are excellent, cork stoppers. Razor is fine, pocket knife is as well.
