Antique French Writer's Folio, Case, Etui and Ivory Pen, Wax Seal, Pocket Knife, Letter Opener, Inkwell
A fabulous antique late 19th century writer's set, Traveler's writing folio with implements and inkwell, writing surface with blotter, and a pleated folio into which stationery can be stored. It's split leather on card, silk moire fabric and paper-lined interior, a very fine quality set which must have been a gift. So beautifully preserved, nicer than any of these we've had over the decades. The old implements inside are matching pieces, original to it, and each are in ivory**. The red stick is sealing wax and the sceau or wax seal has not been engraved so can be done for your own monogram if you want to use the desktop set. Beautifully made and in incredibly fine condition, it dates later 1800s, Napoleon III or slightly after. Measurements noted on the photos. Very good to excellent condition throughout. There is little sign that it was ever used at all, over 130 years old now, it's quite incredible. The inkwell is about 1" square, compression lid so it won't leak. No real evidence
