Delightful antique French Sarreguemines faience 7pc 8 3/8" cabinet plate set, Grand Tour scenes of seven prominent European cities with ornate floral black & white borders and fabulous visual & decorative appeal! A grouping of seven here, all numbered and include numbers 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12. They each have different architectural or geographical scenes for each city and are entitled "Rome", "St. Petersbourg", "Moscou", "Madrid", "Londres", Athenes" and "Naples" for, of course, Rome, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Madrid, London, Athens & Naples. The black underglaze marks on the backs read "Medaille D'Or 1844, Sarreguemines, U et Cie". There are also die stamped marks in the backs that look like "5" and "U". The maker Porzellanfabrik Utzschneider & Company, Bavarian Paul Utzschneider founder circa 1800-1919. Paul Utzschneider took over the factory in 1800 and introduced new decorating techniques.
