Antique Victorian Beadwork Needlepoint 20" x 9" Panel, Tea Tray or Make a Pillow
Still working through many many Victorian and earlier needlework panels and tapestry fragments, all collected over a lifetime with intention of making them up into lushly trimmed and down-filled throw pillows. Somehow, I always imagined I'd fine or take the time to do so. Those I have made have sold high. This one, for instance, a large panel of stunning Victorian era beadwork, a single bead stitch at a time, made and perfectly kept either as salvage from a tea try (no frame is included) or at least readied to make up as same and never used. The beaded panel is all heavy glass beads, begs to be flanked by a complimenting color velvet, and backed in same - trim with lush fringe or tassels - you know the look. Full measurements noted on the photos. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, I find no weak areas or loss of beads, and it appears to me it was made for and prepared to use atop a Victorian tea tray, but seems never to have been mounted in the wood frame.
