The case holds 5 sewing tools: 18k gold handled scissors (still very sharp); 18k gold thimble; 18k gold needle case; 18k gold bodkin; 18k gold handled stiletto. Full measurements are 4 1/8" long case by 2" wide and 3/4" thickest - heavy and smooth in the hand, and easily tucked into a purse or pocket back then to go meet with friends to socialize and work on needle arts and embroidery - women's art in that time. Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. I can see a 1/2" long hairline at one end (see images) which is stable and not a repair.
