From my private collection comes a few fine Napoleon III to Belle Epoch raised gold enamel porcelains. This one is a fabulous amphora vase on heavily gilded lion head and horse's hoof tripod cabriole legs. A work of art by M. Redon, a Limoges, France porcelain decorator. Opulent raised gold porcelains like this one date mostly during the turn of the 20th century, c.1890-1910, "Belle Epoch". Amply signed on bottom, It definitely has a Chinoise feel to the decorative style, but also a bit to the Renaissance. Entirely hand decorated, thick impasto gold enamel rising in bas relief from the shiny cobalt surface - my favorite decorative style on porcelain. Overall, with lid in place, it is not quite 7 1/2" tall, and at widest point it is 3 1/2" in diameter. I have a matching amphora also listing today, but the other one is completely undamaged, and will be priced higher, accordingly. They display beautifully together as you can see in final photos. All sold separately. Very good condition f
