Oil Figure Study #1
Oil Figure Study using Neutral grays and blacks. Oil on Canvas Paper. 7x5 inch. This oil study originally started out as a female figure with a blocked, graphic art style creating shadows on the face. As I was painting, I started to make a more abstracted figure, deviating from my original reference photo into a face almost resembling Marlon Brando. The way the lines move almost makes it seem like the face is in motion. This painting specifically is a part of the oil study series that has 4 variations: dark greyscale, light greyscale, warm tones, and cool tones. This figure study has an interesting subject that would make a unique focal point in any room. It is handpainted and crafted as part of an oil exercise that allows for only 30 min - 1 hr spent on each study. My love of human figures is definitely emphasized in this painting and expressed throughout the series. Care: This painting is made on canvas paper with raw oil paint, meaning it is unvarnished or protected. The best
