2016 Mounts "Old Lake Road Vineyard" Dry Creek Valley Syrah

OLD LAKE ROAD: AMERICAN SYRAH'S HIDDEN GEMÂ The Mounts Family has been farming in Dry Creek Valley since the 70s but in our opinion, remain criminally under-the-radar. While other deliciously opulent west coast Syrahs become ever pricier and harder to find, Mount's single vineyard Syrah holds its own year after year against the culty and collectible. This bottling drips with blackberry coulis, black pepper & licorice with whiffs of barnyard, smoke and cola. Clocking in well over 15% abv with brawny tannins to match, it's an unabashedly ripped wine and a slam dunk for new-world Syrah lovers.
