To help protect workers who handle HAZMATs, in 1983 the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) established the “Hazard Communication Standard.” Then, in 2024, OSHA released an update to the Standard called the “Final Rule.” It protects workers even further by improving the quality of the information that they receive, particularly regarding hazard classification, Safety Data Sheets, and labeling.
