Throughout KAWS' prolific career there has been one constant: The KAWS "Companion". A semi autobiographical figure that through the decades has displayed a range of emotions from utter despair (found in "Passing Through") to the Exuberance of a fresh start, after having his children as can be witnessed in "Clean Slate". In "Along the Way", two companions can be seen comforting each other in a time of despair-- seemingly holding each other up, as they walk, for reasons only the enigmatic "KAWS" (Brian Donnelly) knows. Released in 2019, "Along the Way" has often been seen in "larger than life" form ie KAWS: BROOKLYN MUSEUM (2019-2021); where an 18 foot, wooden, "Along the Way" was displayed predominantly in the museums foyer.
