This work is one of Blek’s most iconic images. This is a very rare Proof aside from the edition of 200. This is Printer's Proof 1 - denoted by "PP 1", hand written by the artist in graphite pencil, bottom left margin. These early Blek Proofs are exceptionally difficult to come across. To find one with a Black Rat Press certificate of authenticity is difficult. This work comes with the certificate of authenticity from Goldmark Atelier , signed by their master printer and confirming the work to be ”Printer’s Proof 1/4”. Xavier Prou (AKA Blek Le Rat) began stenciling rats on the streets of Paris twenty years before Banksy touched a spray can; "Every time I think I did something new, I find out that Blek did it twenty years ago" -Banksy.
