Fake Thug (Dead Prez)

Offered by APC ART is this iconic Mark Drew print. This was Drew’s first print to use his blind stamp (in an effort to cut down on fake prints as the value of his work continues to skyrocket). For this edition there were 100 Yellow variants and 100 orange variants printed. Drew , a master of juxtaposition, has once again produced a highly stylized, super iconic work. The artist’s stylistic motif of various peanuts characters, with speech bubbles coming from one of the characters (A La a comic strip), in the speech bubble there is an iconic rap lyric. For this work Drew chose the iconic, late 90’s/ early 2000’s rap anthem ”Hip Hop” from DEAD PREZ’S timeless release ”Let’s get free.” If you are a Hip Hop fan (or were one around the late 90s / early 2000’s), you will no doubt remember this song and cherish this piece.
