Dean Stockton (AKA D FACE) has made a name for himself in the world of street art beginning in the late 1990s. His large scale, street murals - mostly of couples in the midst of embrace, replete with stylistic cues taken from Roy Lichtenstein were a shock to the senses of anyone and everyone who viewed them; At first glance, Dface’s murals appear pastoral, almost cathartic in a sense. Upon taking a closer look the viewer will notice a different side of the art; morbidity, sadness and regret permeate D's works. Often times one of the two subjects appears to be of the living dead, the images (at times) accompanied by various text ruminating with regret, lost love as well as longing, leave the viewer pondering their own lost loves as well as feelings of regret. After all, isn't that what "Street Art" is meant to do ? Appeal to the masses - those that cannot identify with complex themes of one's own purpose, longevity, the meaning of life, other comp
