Space Invader has been plastering buildings, walls, under and overpasses across the globe since 1999 with his glass and ceramic tiled mosaics. The enigmatic artist works in anonymity, his true identity known to only art world insiders. He initially had a small, cult following amongst fellow Parisians in the early 2000s. His work gradually became widely known as he ”INVADED” various metropolitan areas across the globe ; placing hundreds of his mosaics (with themes often influenced by their surroundings) in conspicuous areas that would garner attention. It was after he joined the POWS (Pictures on Walls, the publisher of various Banksy prints) roster around, 2010 that he began to experience widespread acclaim, a larger collector base and consequently increased demand for his works.
