Known as ”The Banksy of Brighton” , Imbue has a knack for taking serious societal issues and putting his own unique (often times, humorous) spin on them. The artist is known for his cultural commentary on topics ranging from capitalism to technology. While still bringing attention to these various causes, it is his wry, blunt humor that sets him apart from some of the other ”contemporary” artists of the day. In this work; the artist has printed what appears to be a newspaper print classified page (on thick 350GSM art paper) from the 1970s or 1980s— except the products and services offered are those from modern culture; Uber , Netflix , Tinder and Airbnb are some of the platforms the artist has seemingly marketed with a retro spin on them.
