ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare
Description ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare The ACR ResQFlare is a high-intensity LED electronic distress boat flare kit. The ResQFlare and its accompanying distress flag have been certified by the US Coast Guard, allowing them to be used in place of traditional boating pyrotechnic flares on most vessels. The ResQFlare is a viable alternative to boat flare guns or pyro flares, providing 360° visibility for over 6 miles and a long operational life (+20 Hour burn time), considerably increasing your chances of survival and rescue. Overview The ResQFlare facilitates rescue by emitting the flash typical for the International Morse Code for S-O-S. On just two user-replaceable C-Cell Alkaline batteries, the ResQFlare's high-efficiency electronics allow it to maintain the USCG-required 75 cd peak equivalent fixed intensity for nearly 20 hours (more than 3 times longer than the USCG requirement for maintaining this level of light intensity). The ResQFlare's user-replaceable battery power source provides years of service while eliminating the common downsides of pyrotechnic flares, such as their expiry dates and stringent mandatory disposal regulations. Because it fits the requirements of 46 CFR 161.013, the ResQFlare is classed as an authorized Night Visual Distress Signal. Customers are also given an approved Day Visual Distress Signal because every ResQFlare comes with a Distress Flag that meets the criteria of 46 CFR 160.072. (The necessity for the carriage of certified day and night visual distress signals is specified in 33 CFR part 175.) The included Distress Flag has a variety of daytime signaling choices. The flag can be flown by either affixing it to the mast or simply hoisting it to the highest point feasible. It can also be waved on items like a boat hook, paddle, or fishing rod, or it can be set flat on the deck to attract planes. The flag should only be used as a day signal, with the black square over the black circle when displayed correctly. When on vessels up to 65' in length, boating on the Great Lakes, within 12 miles of U.S. waters, or on any body of water with a pathway to the sea at least two miles wide, carrying the ResQFlare and Distress Flag combined eliminates the need for traditional pyrotechnic flares. Vessels under 16' are not required to have a Day Visual Distress Signal, but must have a Night Visual Distress Signal, making the ResQFlare a feasible alternative to pyrotechnic flares for vessels of this size. With the addition of the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare to ACR's portfolio of boating safety gear, recreational boaters in the United States now have a complete distress signaling option. When used in conjunction with an ACR EPIRB or Personal Locator Beacon, USCG rescuers not only know where you are within minutes, but they also have a visual reference light to help them find you from up to 6 miles away. Replace you distress flares with a an electronic distress flare today! Benefits vs Pyrotechnic Flares No expiration date Family safe (no burning flame) Easy to operate (so even your kids and first-time boaters can operate it in the event of an emergency) No issues with the existing stringent mandatory disposal requirements for pyrotechnic flares (legally considered as hazardous materials) Waterproof and Buoyant One-time purchase (less cost over the life of the product) Product Features and Benefits ResQFlare and included Distress Flag, when carried together, qualify as a replacement for the carriage of USCG pyrotechnic flares (the U.S.A. only) Bright light in all directions (360° visibility) Lightweight and compact in size Automatically rights itself and floats when in the water (no buoyancy/flotation ring necessary) Visible over 6 miles User-Replaceable C-Cell Alkaline Batteries (Not Included) High intensity LED strobe maintains a minimum peak equivalent fixed intensity of 75 cd for 20 hours or greater (room temperature) The operational life of 20 hours is over 3 times longer than the USCG requirement for maintaining peak equivalent fixed intensity of 75 cd Durable design: Fire-resistant, Oil-resistant, Fungus-resistant, & Corrosion resistant Waterproof (IP67) Certified under USCG 161.013 as a Nighttime Visual Distress Signal Includes Distress Flag (Certified under USCG 160.072 as Daytime Visual Distress Signal) Specifications ResQFlare Specs Product ResQFlare (Electronic Distress Flare) Battery C Cell Alkaline Batteries (x2) (Not Included) Battery Replacement Replace Batteries Annually Light Source High Efficiency 0.5W LED (x7) Light Color White Dimension φ2.36” x 8.07” (φ60 x 205 mm) Weight (excluding batteries and flag) 0.3 lbs (135g) Function SOS Distress Signal Light (meets USCG specifications for a Night Visual Distress Signal as required by 33 CFR part 175) Light Intensity ≥75cd (6.2 miles visual distance) Operation Time ≥20 hrs over 75 cd (room temperature) Waterproof Level IP67 Buoyant Inherently Buoyant (no buoyancy/flotation ring necessary) Storage Temperature -22°F ~ 149°F (-30℃ ~ 65℃) Working Temp. 30.2°F - 86°F (-1℃ ~ 30℃) Activation Manual Warranty 1 Year Environmental Performance Fire-resistant, Oil-resistant, Mycete-proof, Corrosion-proof, and Waterproof.
