Unlike portable satellite radios, the Icom Satellite PTT Radio IC-SAT100M does not require a clear view of the sky to establish a steady communication connection. The design of this worldwide satellite mobile radio allows for easy coverage from a car to inside a structure. The Iridium satellite network supports the IC-SAT100M, giving a genuine global communication solution that covers the whole world, including both poles. Mobile Uses The IC-SAT100M is designed for long-term use, allowing you to concentrate on driving while using Bluetooth to operate hands-free. To send and receive satellite signals, mount the antenna on the roof of your vehicle. To help with clearance, the supplied antenna can be stored inside the vehicle. Mount the optional AH-40 antenna on top of the vehicle and conceal it with a third-party cover for a more modest option. In-Building Use Communicate with the Iridium satellite network from within a building. The IC-SAT100M can be used as a satellite radio for the office.It can be costly and time-consuming to install a handheld satellite radio in a structure.
