Eavesdropping on a satellite phone is virtually impossible since the signal travels vertically towards the sky. They would have to have an airplane full of equipment inline of sight between you and the satellite. However, they would still have to decrypt the signal which is encoded with up-to 256 Bit AES Encryption, the same as the DOD uses for their own communications. This feature includes certain conditions: the deactivation can last up to six months at a time, and it is required that you complete 12 months of active service within the first 18 months of activation. Once the initial 12-month period is fulfilled, you may deactivate and reactivate your SIM card as necessary, with no restrictions on duration. Upon reactivation, a prorated service charge for one month will be applied.
