Subtle high frequencies The most essential component for reproducing detailed high frequencies is a light diaphragm. Compared to dynamic models of the same diameter, the D8000’s diaphragm is ⅓ lighter. A super thin aluminum coil has been etched onto the diaphragm, eliminating the need for an adhesive between the coil and diaphragm–which has a negative effect on sound quality.  Air Film Damping System  In conventional planar magnetic headphones, the low frequencies often drop off, resulting in weak bass extension. The D8000 solves this problem with the Air Film Damping System (AFDS). An Air Film between the diaphragm and the magnets works to extend bass frequencies and boost the low end. Easy to repair Repairs, mods, and upgrades are simple with the D8000. Almost every part was designed for easy disassembly.
