There is some debate over the origin of vodka sauce and many compelling stories that point to its origination in Italy, however, the first to create the luxuriously creamy Penne alla Vodka is Chef Luigi Franzese, who worked at Orsini Restaurant in New York in the 1970s. The story told is that he needed to thin a sauce and used some vodka that he had in his flask, creating this rich, silky, wonderfully tangy pink sauce loved by everyone.  Don Antonio created this delicious sauce, minus the cream, but with all the delicious elements of a classic vodka sauce.
