Eggshell Powder is a good calcium choice when preparing DIY meals for animals in chronic renal failure (CRF) because it acts as a mild phosphorus binder. The eggshell membrane mainly consists of protein in the form of collagen plus small amounts of chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine and other nutrients considered beneficial for the joints.
