Mothman with Santa Hat Fused glass sun catcher. There is a legend in West Virginia that the Mothman appears as a warning of pending disaster. The Mothman festival draws crowds from around the world to celebrate this mysterious character and try to get a glimpse of the rural legend for themselves. The festival takes place in Point Pleasant WV in September each year. This sun catcher is made from hand cut and shaped glass, then kiln fused. Measures 6 x 3-1/2 inches. Features those hypnotic eyes, made from fused glass. The feet are fused from small glass rods called stringers. Comes ready to hang. Each piece is made by hand in our Putnam County, WV studio.
