I love the "found poems" in this delightful, visually appealing, coffee-table book. Jonathan Williams (1929-2008) was born in Asheville and actually dropped out of Princeton to attend Black Mountain College! He was an out-of-the-closet gay man at a time when that was uncommon in the mountains of North Carolina. His work as a photographer and graphic artist as well as a poet shows in this amazing book. He lived most of his adult life in Scaly Mountain, North Carolina, between Highlands and the Georgia line. He founded the Jargon Press. Durham, Duke University Press, 1985. unpaged.
