Perfect acceptable for the 18th century and early 19th century time periods as well as for today. Mittens with knit in gore shaped perfectly to fit your thumb and shaped at the top for period accuracy in the 18th century. Wrist is fitted with no ribbing to go under your sleeves. I use 2-Ply Bartlett 100% wool yarn on these for warmth, which has been preshrunk before knitting. The colors also match the "Hat" colors so you can order a matched set. Each pair of mittens comes with a length of yarn that I knit them out if so that you can save incase you need for future repairs.
