It permits current to flow for up to 60 seconds without alternator support, even when both batteries are below 12.7V. The isolator continuously monitors both the starter and auxiliary batteries and connects them when either exceeds 13.2V, enabling smart energy sharing. This feature is particularly useful when charging the starter battery from a solar panel or charger connected to the auxiliary battery. Once system voltage drops below 12.7V, the solenoid automatically isolates the starter battery, preventing an accidental drain.
