Anubias Coffeefolia – Easy Midground Plant
Anubia coffeefolia boasts large, heavily ridged leaves to dress any aquascape. Like other members of the Anubias species, this variety is slow growing and an ideal mid-ground plant. It is hardy and undemanding with robust growth under ideal conditions. Juvenile forms of the plant often have reddish brown leaves. However, as the plant matures, the leaf color changes to a dark, vibrant green and serves as the perfect aquarium accent plant. Native to the tropical regions of Africa, these flowering plant species are primarily found in rivers, streams, and marshes. Anubias plants are ideal when planted in substrate or placed on harder surfaces, such as rocks or driftwood. They have medium light requirements but need regular fertilization with iron-based supplements for optimal growth. Interestingly, most Anubias plants do not respond to CO2 supplementation.
