Hex Adapters The small hex hole saw adapter is needed to attach 11/16" (for 3/4" taps) and 7/8" (for 1" taps) hole saws to 13" drill rods that have a hex tip. The large hex hole saw adapter is needed to attach 1-3/8" (for 1-1/2" taps) and 1-3/4" (for 2" taps) hole saws to 18" and 24" drill rods that have a hex tip. Note: Without these adapters it is impossible to connect a hole saw to your hex tipped drill rod. Threaded Adapter The threaded hole saw adapter is needed to attach 1-3/8" (for 1-1/2" taps) and 1-3/4" (for 2" taps) hole saws to drill rods that have a threaded tip. Note: 11/16" (for 3/4" taps) and 7/8" (for 1" taps) hole saws don't need a threaded hole saw adapter. These sizes have the correct thread type built into the hole saw and will attach to the threaded drill rod without an adapter.
