This may sound terrible, but I can't even remember what the poem was about. As I began reading it, I saw imagery of a black shapeless mass, moving, pulsating, and growing as it moves toward the viewer. As the shape gets closer, things begin coming into focus: beaks, talons, feathers, and wings.
