Dropcloth Embroidery Sunshine

This Sampler measures approximately  8" x 8". What thread should I use? They use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss. How should I back my sampler? For best results,They recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way. What size hoops should I use? They like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on
