Raf Simons S/S 1999 Sleeve-less Shirt

This is a white Button-up sleeve-less shirt from Raf Simons Spring/Summer 1999 collection titled "Kinetic Youth". It features black geometric back detailing that expands with movement. The removed sleeves left a fraying detailing on the garment giving it the punk feeling that embodied Simons's earliest work.  For this collection Raf explored the idea of transforming lean-on-top, large-on-the-bottom silhouettes of ravers into structured sleek garments. "I am obsessed by tailoring—very strong, linear clothes, I ask myself how can I bring that to young people—to a 14-year-old who you never see in a suit?" stated Simons when asked about the show.
