Untitled II, by Jennie Edgar
Inspired by the simplicity of the materials she works with—kozo, mulberry, okawara, gampi papers—and the often handmade, imperfect nature of each of them, Hudson, New York based artist Jennie Edgar creates an experience through subtle forms and repetitive expressions. "My work is minimal, using the grid or circles as focal points in which to convey transformative atmospheres that build and aggregate to evoke moods and resonances; places wherein something we have yet to encounter feels intensely familiar," she says. Edgar's works embrace inconsistencies of the human hand and the visual pleasures found in error-derived variation. Untitled II is paper collage art that uses black silk thread on white Kozo paper and is one of a kind, created exclusively for ARJÉ. The paper-based artwork is sold with a floating frame and comes fitted with museum-standard glass.
