Sold by the ounce Description Chickweed Herb is a low-growing annual native to Europe that is common fare for chickens, hence the name. This plant has light green leaves, tiny white flowers and small hairs. Chickweed is often prepared as a tea or a soothing ointment or skin cream. Directions To prepare as a tea, pour 8 ounces boiling water over 1 to 2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5 to 10 minutes, strain and serve immediately. Origin Bulgaria   Sold by the ounce
