Sunset Swells

Sunset Swells is a compact oil study, measuring just 2 by 3 inches, where I explored the energy and texture of Maui’s north coast surf. The painting’s swirling brushstrokes and thick layers of paint capture the movement of waves under a setting sun, with warm yellows and oranges meeting cooler blues and aqua at the edges. The heavy texture builds a sense of flow and vitality, reflecting the constant motion and shifting light I experienced watching those swells roll in.
